Brevity is the Soul of Wit

Trying to get back into the swing of things after a crazy busy start to March, and then being gross-sick for a week. So Happy #FicFriday!

Continuing the new tradition from here:

Leave prompts in the comment section below
    — I will respond with at least 2-sentences of fic, unless I get carried away
    — You can request anything (take a look at my interests for ideas), including OF
    — Leave prompts for 140 Character Fic over on Twitter, too! Use the hashtag #FicFriday
    — Brevity is the soul of wit
    — HAVE FUN!

If you have a #FicFriday post of your own, link me to it in the comments so I can prompt you as well! Happy writing, everyone!

My #140CharFic fills from Twitter (3/15):

For Fi, prompt: Zoe-fear
"She was good with folk on the field. 'Keep your head up, eyes open. Probably won't make much difference, but maybe you'll live.'"

Hell on Wheels / 3:10 to Yuma crossover
For Fi, prompt: Lily-William-growth
"She's seen the growth of the railroad; if honest, helping William nurture his land and seeing what it may do brings more delight."

Seabiscuit / Changeling OC crossover
For Fi, prompt: Red/Tiwa-belief
"She never says, 'Don't look down!' Doesn't have to. Holding onto each other, he needs no reminder he's safe. His eyes stay open."

The Three Musketeers
For Fi, prompt: Porthos-old friends
"The truest companions are born from conflict. Call it ego, posturing, pride - Athos laughs, teeth stained red, and Aramis sings."

The most frustrating thing about these fics is that 140 characters later THEY JUST STOP SUDDENLY.

Ahhhhhhhh Steve, relieved. :(

No, I meant because I wanted more. :D

I was originally going to ask for two, "Steve Meets Howard Stark" and "Steve Meets Tony Stark" but thought the serum one might be more fun for you to play with.

Not specifically, more like a reflection on who he thinks they are first-go. I scrapped the idea pretty quick, but I guess my interest is more in how (or if) he compares them to each other.

Yeah, I'm no good at these prompts, as I usually want to know stuff that works better in 100-page fics. :D MY EVIL PLAN TO MAKE YOU WRITE NOVELS FOR ME.

Meh, no pressure. <3 I'm quite happy with 140-char fics, I'm just terrible at prompting for them. :D Though it might seriously be time to re-read some of the old ones we came up with.

The dichotomy of these feels are KILLING ME. The whole world screaming and fawning over Howard's genius and Steve is just like "Please don't kill me."

And still with the screaming and the fawning and the admiration and Steve gets to know him and just thinks "Wow, you are a good guy who needs a punch in the mouth."

*continued flail*

"He didn't seem to care about making friends, or even just preventing Steve's disdain" - My first thought was that this describes Steve's time in basic training pretty well, too.

Ahhhh pretending he's not there, not an easy thing to do with any Stark, but Steve's had practice.

Maria Hill -- not suffering fools gladly

He had three bachelor's in single- and multi-variable calculus, elementary differential equations, and computer science; five years interning for various high-end government facilities; studied in statics and dynamics, electrical engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, systems engineering; and a Master's in aerospace engineering.

Within two hours of him on the Hellicarrier, Hill knocked him flat on his pompous ass with one well-aimed punch. The Board could ream her all they wanted; she knew this ship inside and out, and she wouldn't suffer his mistakes or his ego.
