ladyoflorien: (Poor Dead Boromir)

(no subject)

I don't feel like updating, so I'm not gonna. But I saw this yesterday and have been eaten up with guilt since for not linking all my LOTR geeks right away. So, if you have any questions or curiosities about the TTT DVD, here it is for you:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/syxer7/727450.html

Also, go surf around [livejournal.com profile] syxer7's journal if you want to know anything else. She's usually on the up and up, and one of my most trusted sources. ;) She'll probably treat you better than I, too, since she rarely runs away with her tail tucked between her legs.

Oh, and THIS just merits your immediate viewing. Baby Elijah singing! And, what I THINK is teenage Elijah singing about hollywood.com, opera style! I can't make out all the words, but it fascinates me to no end. I probably listened to it a hundred times already. If anyone can make out the other words, I want them. All I get is "Hollywood dot com, Hollywood dot com! *something something something something something* interview! Hollywooddotcom!" Aside from that, SEAN BEAN who has the sexiest voice in the world, and some country singer that I refuse to believe is actually Viggo until I get some tangible evidence. No. No no no. Can't be Viggo.

Hope that's enough to satisfy my minions. Yay for TTT goodness. Now I return to the shadows of my mind.

Viggo's gone country.

Gabs-
Ya can't believe everything on the internet. That defiantly ISN'T Viggo!!! Don't worry, I would have to run and hide if it was. I've been a huge country fan forever, and you can tell a cover from the origanal, I'm 99% positive it ain't him. :)
Have fun. :P

Good, that's what I thought. Thanks for dispelling my darkest nightmare anyway, though.

Heh. I spent two hours at that website last night. (I might have undressed Legolas a couple times, just to appease the fangirl in me) It's a personal low.

If you search Kazaa for 'Elijah Wood and Sir Ian (Gandalf) Elijah sings....' you'll get a video clip of the Hollywood.com opera thing. Much better quality, too, by the way.

Damn you, now I HAVE to download that. *pats computer consolingly* If you die, it is for a noble and worthy cause... ;)

It's him, sorry. Went looking and, like, every site that has "examples of Viggo's music" or whatever has those four songs. Wish it wasn't. But it is. Sorry.

Well that still doesn't mean it's truly Viggo. Remember that BSB sound clip that was on EVERY BSB site around a few years back that turned out to be a fake? Just because something is in popular circulation doesn't mean it's for real. And J seems absolutely adamant that it's not him. So you get me a video clip and I'll believe you. :P

[identity profile] dramabsb.livejournal.com 2003-04-12 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, don't remember the fake BSB clip. And just cause it doesn't sound the way you thought it would doesn't mean it's not him. I have yet to see a video of him singing (FotR doesn't count cause you can barely hear him and he's doing it in a different voice with a different accent anyways). But these things are recorded off his albums and why anyone would fake an entire album, let alone the two or three he's done, I don't know. Faking one song is one thing, but to fake two or three albums? Come on, babe.

But, hey, if you don't want to believe it, fine. I just don't see the point in someone faking that many songs. Seems kinda silly to me.

*arches eyebrow*

My goodness, someone is extremely touchy.

Album? Wasn't aware he had one out.

Forgive me for believing several sources. I like country music. Half my music collection is country music. I am not ashamed to admit that. I love male country singers. If Viggo sounds like a country singer, more power to him. It just didn't sound like him, and I've been told I have an exceptional ear when it comes to things like that.

There's no need to get touchy. If you say it's him, and you're so friggin' adamant about it, then fine. It's him. But I'm not gonna get stuck in the middle of a fight when other people start bitting at you about it because 'they're an authority on that kind of thing, and it's so obviously not him', 'cause I don't really give a flying crap. If it's him, if it's not, it doesn't make one bit of difference to me. I still think he's sexy as hell.

And I'd look for the fake BSB clip, but I never uploaded it to my site because I could tell it wasn't them. Got a lot of slack for that, too. People wanted to know why the hell I 'didn't have the new bsb single up!' I think it was just before Millennium was released if you want to look around. It was this big friggin deal, too, since it was so long between 'Backstreet Boys' and 'Millennium' and people were really thirsty for new material. (To be honest, I was glad it wasn't them, because the song stunk)

So Viggo is a known country music singer with country albums out. Okay, fine. I never said I didn't believe you, so stop nipping at me. I just don't want to believe it until I see some proof because it didn't sound like his voice, but maybe that site you linked me to will provide just that. Thank you. It's good to have people willing to provide info to obsessed fangirls like me, even if they are trying to prove they're right and I'm a moron & a teeny-bopper that can't stand to see the oh so perfect squeaky clean image of my favorite movie idol and the way I think he should behave tarnished. Geeze. He's just a regular joe, like the rest of the cast. Who gives a crap what they do in THEIR OWN PRIVACY, or what they sound like when they sing?

But hey, to each his/her own. Seems kinda silly to me that someone would get so worked up over something so trivial.

[identity profile] dramabsb.livejournal.com 2003-04-12 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
???????? Didn't know I was getting touchy. And he's not a country singer. I was raised on country, never once heard him on air. He's a poet and some of his poetry he's put to music.

If it sounded like I was getting nasty at you or something, I'm sorry, I did not intend to make you feel insulted.

Don't worry about it, I'm not insulted or offended. It's good to know that you're not as pissed as you'd come off sounding.

I was raised on country too, all my long life till I discovered BSB ;) Guess when I meet Viggo I'll just ask him to sing a bar or two for me. *snort*

[identity profile] lordoflorien.livejournal.com 2003-04-12 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
By the way, it's not a matter of faking songs, it's a matter of mislabeling. Why would I think Viggo would fake an album? Is he Milli Vanilli? People put out songs on the internet all the time saying "Click here to listen to Eminem's new single!" or "Listen to some samples of Aerosmith's latest album!" and what they really end up getting is the chorus of "Ice Ice Baby" looped into a horrifying 5 minute anthem. It sucks much donkey dung. It's happened to me plenty of times for me to say that from experience. That's what I was referring to. Not that Viggo Mortenson was pulling a Milli Vanilli on us. I think he's plenty successful enough to release a real album, even if he sounded like Steve Urkel on speed, and still make some sells. But if I go to CDnow.com and click on Viggo Mortenson sound clips and hear "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, I'm not gonna go "Hey, this must be the real deal because CDnow says so!"

[identity profile] dramabsb.livejournal.com 2003-04-12 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Sweetheart, I'm sorry, chill. I have yet to hear any of the songs labled as his on the radio as actually some one else. If you don't want to believe that maybe he's recorded music, fine, that's you. I'm sorry if anything I said insulted you.

*rolls eyes* Nevermind then. We obviously aren't on the same wave-length here, and I get the feeling that I'll just add more confusion to this whole situation if I try to clarify. So never mind.

Finally found what I was looking for:

http://www.actionbox.com/viggo.html

No video clips and not the best recording but if you listen to the poetry it is him. And then he starts singing on there so compare the voices. It's Viggo.
