Pretty in Pink? Indeed.
I just saw Pretty in Pink for the very first time tonight. I only have one thing to say... R.O.T.F.L.P.I.M.P.D.O.L.!!! Wow. That was great. Quotes!
"Every time you go to the bathroom you lose IQ points!"-Iona(?)
"Do I O-fend?"-Duckie (BWAAAAH)
"Go on. This is a terribly romantic moment and you're ruining it for me."-Duckie.
I have fallen in love with Duckie. Omga. What's the actor? Jon Cryer? I don't recognize him from anything else, but GADS. Duckie = sweetest darn thing on the planet. And can I just say that Duckie lip-syncing to "Tenderness" by Ottis Redding was the best scene of the whole movie? I swear it was. It's one of those moments you remember forever. Like Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You singing "You're Too Good to be True." Or John Cusack in Say Anything standing outside Diane's house with the boombox high over his head. Just... yes. There's something about 80's teen movies. They're different than today's chick flicks. There's some element in them missing nowadays that make them uniquely special and, well, worth watching. I should have been born a decade earlier. *nods*
Anyways, Pretty In Pink rates high on my scale of good movies. If Molly doesn't want Duckie, I'll take him! Adooooooooorrrable. Everybody needs someone like that. Mom said that if I were still in California that's how me and Christopher's relationship would be. *snort* I love Chris probably as much and Molly did Duckie, but I doubt I'd get that kind of devotion out of him. Hehehe. I miss my kreestoffer. =D
Anyways. Today = pretty good day. After my earlier post I played Farscape for a while, got past a part that was really bugging me, but didn't get to finish the level because we had to leave to take dad to the airport. When I'm done here, you can bet your dollar I'll be playing. =D For a little while, at least. Until Farscape (the show) comes on. Hehe. Dedication, I am thy name. ;) Anyways, as I was saying, we took dad down to Manchester and dropped him off. Mom checked out an upholstery shop she's been wanting to visit for a while, then we drove back up to Concord and ate dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. Insanely good meal, especially the dessert. Heh. Had a pretty good time chatting, though I am a psycho geek and have pretty good suspicions that mom had no idea what I was talking about all day. LOL.
Came home and watched two movies: First, the original version of Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, & William Holden, then Pretty In Pink; neither of which I'd seen before. I liked both quite a bit. All in all, not a waste of my evening. Then afterward we watched Dragnet. I stayed interested only because ETHAN EMBRY! He is so adorable. I love him to pieces.
Anyway, next Sunday on AMC: Young Guns. Another movie I've never seen, and I'm ashamed to admit that, especially after I saw the cast. Emilio Estevez!! Kiefer Sutherland!!! Charlie Sheen!! CHAAAAARRRLIEEEE!!! So you can see what I'll be up to next Sunday night. ;) lol, I am queen dork, hear me roar!
Keeeefer!
Okay, I'm amusing myself with Ottis still. Going to call it a night now. I've got some Farscapin' to do. ;) Heh.
Luv, Gabby

Yeah, I've been a fan of John Hughes for a while... seen over half his movies... but not a fan of chick flicks, so I get discouraged easily. :)
*hugs you grandly* Miss you.
