Wow.

*slowly exhales*

Wow. I can't even begin to put into words what I just watched. That movie was just... my god. Wow.

My chest burned a good portion of the time because I was holding my breath and not even realizing it. The scene where he's in the remnants of the ghetto and the german soldier finds him... then makes him play piano... I admit there were tears heavy in my eyes, my whole body shuddered, and after the final note I let out everything I'd been holding in with a slow shaky breath, surprised but moved to watch the lead do the exact same thing. It was... beyond my ability to describe.

I don't know what to say further. The depth and value of the movie can only be realized in the subtle inner-quakings, the dry thirst, the pounding passion of a pianist, and those are things I can't begin to draw in the form of words or expressions universal to all readers.

I loved the film, but you may feel differently about it. The only thing I can truly express is that while watching it I could really feel my heartbeat, and sometimes it felt like I was breathing for the very first time.
