Weeeeee're OFF to see the wizard...
My back hurts so bad right now, dagnabit. Thank goodness I'm going to see Dr. Bell today. *sigh of relief*
So we start with Friday. Thursday night I had the weirdest dream. Okay, for all my MLers, you'll get a kick out of it. I dreamed that (sob) Nick Carter died just as the Boys finally got their act together and started recording the new album. !!! That's right. Right in the middle of recording. I can't remember all the details, but I know Nick died in some horrible way. I can't remember how, but it was all oh-so-tragic. The only parts from the dream I remember real well were me calling my mom all choked up and sobby and telling her he had died and she said "You're joking, right?" and we argued for a bit (it was almost like he was a member of the family or something. Weirdness), and then all the rest of the boys in the recording studio giving their comments on the tragedy. Weird, no? The only thing I can link it with is Nick on Punk'd and too much ER (which by the way was fabulous last week---Luka! Wheee!). But that was my big drama for the day. I was in a funk all day because of it.
Anyway, nothing too exciting happened the rest of Friday. We dropped off the kitten at the vet around 9ish so she could get fixed (sniff, it broke my heart), then I got to the Hilger's house at around 11 or so. We went over to the house we sat for and Shelly, the owner, ran over everything with us so we'd know just what to do. What the horses/dogs ate and when, where we could sleep, food we could eat, etc. Nothing too big. She did want to see how I ride though, since it has been a while since I last went horseback riding. So I saddled up Bean with a western saddle and we did a couple rotations around the arena she has near the house & coral. It was so much fun riding after so long. I really loved it. And Bean is such a good, mild, sweet horse, too. So that was about it. Shelly seemed like a really nice lady. Very cool. After that Janiele, Nichole and I went to the store and bought more stuffs for the weekend. Then back to their house to hang out; we didn't have to be back to Shelly's until Saturday morning, so we spent the night there. WE WATCHED BENNY AND JOON! HEEEEEEE! AND! Denita let me borrow it, too! Wheeeeeeeeee!! ILOVETHATMOVIESOVERYMUCHICOULDCRY! Okay I'm good. First time in YEARS that I'd watched Benny & Joon, so it was very exciting for me. Heh. We went to bed shortly after that.
Then SATURDAY -- Saturday we woke up at around 8 (UGH) and headed over to Shelly's house. Shelly has a whole bunch of animals. 4 horses: a 19-year-old bay female named Bean, a beautiful black horse named Velvet, and Velvet's two young offspring CJ (boy) and Cleo (girl). It was hard for me to tell the three apart because they all have such gorgeous shiny black coats. Velvet was easiest because she is the smallest of the three and has a white star on her forehead; but Cleo and CJ are almost the same size (though they are a year apart in age). It took me a bit, but I finally figured out that Cleo was completely and utterly black (she was my favorite--SO gorgeous) while CJ had a light spattering of white on his nose. Wonderful horses.
Shelly also has 3 dogs; a lab/sharpe mix named Pete (about 1 1/2 years) and two fox terrier/jack russel mixes named Tonka and Tyko. Tyko was also a young pup, Tonka being his father. They were all just incredibly cute and playful. Tonka reminded me of Tribble so much it's uncanny. Both neurotic, older, timid yet clingy pets. Awww, he was my buddy. Tyko is nicknamed "the psycho" for good reason, and Petey was just a big old smelly mutt that slept with me every night. Cute, but dumb. Hehehe. There were also 4 birds (and eggs!), 5 roosters, and a pigeon that had a pen outside. Yep. An Animal House. ;)
So Saturday we fed all the animals fairly quick and headed back to Denita's in the late morning. Nichole, being the "muscle" in the family, had to chop wood so I offered to help (they had one of those automatic chopping machines, so I figured it wouldn't be too hard on my back). ... Oy. Vey. They had felled two HUGE ASS TREES and Denita wanted ALL of it chopped and hauled UP HILL to the wood stack and stacked nicely. She is a CRAZY WENCH. *ahem* I mean, it was hard work. Needless to say we worked all day long with only one break and by the time we hauled the last of the first tree uphill and unloaded it next to the house we were in pain and dead tired and it was getting on time to feed the animals supper. So Denita let us go but we had to come back later and do the rest of it she said. OY.
So anyway, I don't remember too much about that night. I remember that it was the lunar eclipse that night, so we went out and froze our fingers and toes off watching it. It was cold that night---I mean COLD cold. It had to be at least 15 degrees if not less. And the wind was blowing! Can you say "Gabby was frosty the snowman"? IT WAS COLD! But I got to do my astronomy geek routine for Nichole which she enjoyed and see the moon go blood red then black, so it was worth the cold. I made Nichole crack up by dancing around trying to get some warmth, so it was fun regardless of the fact my face went numb and I started talking like I had a mouth full of novocaine.
Mmmm then we watched a movie and ate WAY TOO MUCH candy and etc, but it's all fuzzy. I THINK that was the night we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, but I'm not entirely sure. Heee, the movie was not at ALL the way I remembered it. So I discovered that I didn't really care for the movie much, but I still adore the music which was, in all honesty, more true to my memory. *sigh* I might rip some lyric-y icons later. Because Danny Elfman IS my boyfriend.
Oh yeah, Nichole and Janiele also convinced me to play Monopoly that night. ... Yeah, we're not gonna get into that. Suffice to say the only somewhat entertaining part of the entire game was the fact that it was Star Wars edition and the Han Solo piece looked so freakishly like Harrison Ford that I actually got the creeps. *shudders* Man that was freaky. But anyways, yeah, I'm going to move onto Sunday now because I'm bored with Saturday.
SUNDAY! Let's see. Did the normal morning routine of feeding the animals, etc. We went riding in the early afternoon which was wonderful, because this time we went out on the trail instead of just around the arena. Bean was quite spry that day, because she kept breaking into a trot without me making any gesture towards it. I actually scraped up my knee pretty bad but that was my own fault. We were going around a tree where the trail got very narrow and I misjudged my amount of space because I was nervous we'd slip down the bank of the neighboring river. So Bean made it by just fine but my knee slammed smack dab against the tree we were dodging. Oh well. I didn't realize until later when we were back inside that I was bleeding---bad enough to soak the knee of my khakis with blood. *shrug* Oops. But aside from that it was a good ride. The wind chill was still present but not as bad as it had been the night before.
Anyways, I should start going though things faster now. After that we showered and went back to Denita's house to get ready for the meeting. My perfume made Denita sick so we took separate cars and sat on opposite ends of the hall. *shrug* Oh well. It was actually a really good meeting. Bob Chandler was the guest speaker (Ha!) so I think having someone from my new hall made me feel more at ease there. I don't know what the case was, but I didn't get not one panic attack, and my nervousness was almost non-existent. It was great. And I got to talk to a lot of people, too, which was nice. Christine of course avoided me at all costs, but even if she had dared to approach I probably would have been able to handle it all right. Sarah has me worried though... after the meeting she gave me this long hard vice-like hug and her eyes were all clouded over and troubled... but she wouldn't tell me why... so now I'm very very concerned about her. I told her to call me asap and I think I'm gonna invite her up soon. I'm worried about her.
Anyways. After a bit we went back to Shelly's house and la dee da, played another game of regular Monopoly (it was the only game there, though 4 different versions lol), again ate way too much candy and watched the first two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! God I'm amused. Nichole had never seen the first one so we HAD to watch that, and I hadn't seen the second one in AGES so we watched that immediately afterwards. The highlights of the movie were:
Leo: Hmm... it's quiet...
Michelangelo: Yeah, a little TOO quiet...
Donatello: *after beating up two guards* That was easy!
Mich: Yeah, a little TOO easy...
Leo: Hey look! There's Raph!
Mich: Yeah, a little TOO Raph! *Don and Leo smack him upside the head*
AND
Splinter: I made ANOTHER funny!
BWAHAHA. I love that one. It's so my favorite. We would have watched the third one too but Nichole doesn't like that one. *shakes head* Pity.
Can't remember anything else so MONDAY! Monday we chopped more wood. Affjjhazad. *shoots self in head* My back was already hurting from Saturday and the ride on Sunday, so Monday was NOT AT ALL FUN. Geh. Highlights were I made Nichole her very first omelet (it's sad, but true. She had no idea what an omelet was) and got her hooked on Tabasco sauce. BWAHAHAHA, my work here is done. After chopping the last tree (and, blessedly, not having to haul it up to the wood pile because we couldn't get the barrow up over the hill this time) we went back to Shelly's and I made nachos for dinner. NICHOLE HAS NEVER HAD REAL NACHOS! ACK! So I made her the REAL kind. The GOOD kind. With beans and everything. And she loved it (of course hehe) and had tabasco (HAHAHA) and salsa and all the goods. While we ate we watched The Italian Job (SETH MY LOVE!) and then Cutthroat Island which, still, cracks me up. Allia, we counted how many times Matthew Modine gets smacked upside the head---the grand total is 4. I expected more. *shrug* oh well. We played Dominoes and had a grand old time eating too much candy once again. OH YEAH, and I got to see "King of the Jungle" finally. JEFF CORWIN! EEE! Okay, I have decided I love that show and must now watch it faithfully. ;) He is so my boyfriend.
Tuesday Denita came over and dragged us back to her house for no apparent reason. Really, I have no idea why she did it. But anyway, once we got back to Shelly's we pretty much just cleaned the house all day. Nichole gave Pete a bath because the dog SMELLED. Afterwards he still smelled, but with a flowery after-scent. *shrug* Oh well. By the time I went home at 4 the house was spotless. The dog still stunk, but at least the house was pretty. Um... yeah. We also lunged Velvet and braided her mane. She's such a good horse. Bean ran away and would not cooperate, and the other two were aiding her in her evil ways, so we let her be. Otherwise we would have lunged her too. We WERE gonna ride but my back hurt SO BAD from all that wood hauling/etc that I was afraid it would be too dangerous for me and Bean both to ride that day. So they got a break that day. hehehe. Velvet was probably peeved over the braiding of her mane, but hey, she looked cute. So there. lol.
So that's my weekend for you! I ate dinner at my own house last night, watched TV on my own TV (24! Wheeeee!) and slept in my own bed! Aaaaaah, it's good to be home. I had a blast while I was away and I'll miss those horses something terrible, but it's always good to be home. :)
In other news, I've got some movie news for ya.
I went to the Johnny Depp page to see if there were any new movie announcements. J.M. Barrie's Neverland looks fascinating and is scheduled to come out next year! I CAN'T WAIT! It should be fabulous. Also, Dustin Hoffman is going to be in it and if he ends up portraying the man who inspired Captain Hook I will die. Seriously. I will keel over and die a happy death. Heh. Johnny is also slated to be in the new Stephen King thriller, The Window. That doesn't look as interesting to me, as I am not a Stephen King fan. But hey, Johnny goodness. He's ALSO signed on to be in a movie called The Libertine, which has no plot line as of yet but I'm intrigued to find that starring alongside Johnny is John Malkovich who will be portraying King Charles II. !!! This has very real possibilities. I am excited. Also, Johnny will be working alongside Josh Hartnett, Benicio Del Toro and Nick Nolte in the new Hunter S. Thompson adaptation, The Rum Diary. It promises to be reminiscent of Fear and Loathing. Hmmm... we'll see how this one turns out.
After raiding the Johnny Depp page I moved on to Bruce Willis where I found out he has not only signed on for the new movie, Hostage (slated for next year), which looks pretty good, but he also intends on making, EVERYBODY HOLD YOUR BREATH....
ANOTHER Die Hard. THAT'S RIGHT! Die Hard 4: Die Hardest. I AM ABOUT TO DIE HARD FROM FINDING THIS OUT! *facepalm* OH MAN... I JUST... BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! What happened to "No more action films," Bruce my love? Oy vey. Well. He's only human. :P
Well that's the movie news I found for ya'll this week. Enjoy.
Now for something completely off base, This disturbs me. I know that restaurant. I used to live there. Ick.
And now I take my leave of thee. Interesting fact -- I started this post almost 10 hours ago. Ahahaha. That's what you get when you combine an insanely busy day with trying to write out 5 days worth of news. *shakes head*

Regarding the grossness

I HAVE THAT!!! :-D I LOVE THAT GAME! (I've also asked for the LOTR edition for Christmas) I don't remember, is that the one with the R2-D2 randomizer instead of dice or was that in the SW Trivial Persuit?
Leo: Hmm... it's quiet...
I did that to someone recently. Was it you? HEHEHE That's my favorite Turtle movie. Secret of the Ooze is the best of all three of them! :-D
"So anyway, I don't remember too much about that night. I remember that it was the lunar eclipse that night, so we went out and froze our fingers and toes off watching it."
I wish I could have seen it. It was cloudy here and I was stuck skating for 8 hours instead.
Oooh! Bruce Willis news! I love him! (Not as much as Harrison Ford though, but a close second) Oh and a word of caution, when you're drugged up on pain killers, DON'T WATCH the Die Hard movies. You will have some seriously messed up dreams!
Well it sounded like you had an eventful weekend. Wish mine had been that fun.

Must have been TP, because there was no R2D2 anywhere. It was very upsetting. No R2D2 and no Chewbaca pieces! NOT GOOD!
I did that to someone recently. Was it you?
Hehe, probably. It seemed a little familiar (yeah, a little TOO familiar), considering I haven't seen SOTO since I was a teeny little girl. But yes, great movie.
Oh and a word of caution, when you're drugged up on pain killers, DON'T WATCH the Die Hard movies. You will have some seriously messed up dreams!
ROTFL, um okay. I'll remeber that. *looks at you cross-eyed*

As for the Die hard thing. The first time I saw it I JUST had my wisdom teeth removed. So I was on some heavy duty pain killers.
