Still bummed I wasn't there for the big night myself.
That was possibly THE most hysterical Oscar opener they've had in years. Oh man. I laughed SO hard. I guess it was worth flipping on the channel just to see Billy Crystal as Gollum. Ahahahahaha, I'd give my left boob to see that again.
Oh, and one other thing. *ahem* IANJOHNNYLIJAHDOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Ian was the very first person I spotted! And he announced the clip for RotK! Which had hysterical!drug!abuser!frodo clipage! Muahaha! How much does Gabby love Adrian Broady (yes, I realize I said the SAME EXACT THING last year when he kissed the heck out of Queen Latifa)? LOTS. The breath mints! Aaah, he KILLS me! He is so wonderful. And I ADORE Charlize. I really do. Ever since I first saw The Italian Job. Good for you too, hun. ;)
OMGA. THAT WAS SO FUNNY! Did anyone watch the other actors when Sean Penn won best actor? First there was Johnny who was SO EXCITED, he was whooping and clapping, then the other two who looked equally happy clapping and cheering, and Bill Murray who was STOIC. AHAHAHA THAT WAS SO FUNNY! He almost looked angry! I pointed it out to my dad I thought it was so amusing, and then later Billy Crystal also seemed to noticed the same thing because he started consoling Bill. Hahaha that was so funny.
Well it was a clean sweep. But it wasn't the fact that RotK won Best Picture that got me. Oh no. It was Sean Astin who, when up on stage with the other hobbits, was in tears while Peter gave his speech. My god, I love him. That was so touching. It almost makes me want to search for a theater still playing RotK (though I doubt I'd find one) and go see it again. I love my hobbit boys. AND THE BIT ABOUT BILLY CRYSTAL'S COUSIN??? OMFGA THAT WAS SO FREAKIN' HYSTERICAL! "Are we related?" AHAHAHA I LOVED THAT PART SO MUCH!!! Anyway, amusing show. Predictable. Rigged. Totally worthless. But entertaining. :P
