Goodies for yooooou!

Two words, three syllables:

Stupid. Snow.

So PJ's "Heavenly Creatures" was on TV this afternoon. I think "Cool cool, I wonder if this is PJ's movie?" After a few choice NZ names roll by, including Richard Taylor, I decide I'm recognizing WAY too many New Zealanders for it not to be PJ's movie. So I decide to watch and see what the big hubbub was all about.

Don't. Ever. Watch. That. Movie. It was hideous and disturbing. I will never look at Kate Winslet the same again, nor will I ever be able to watch "Ever After" without getting physically ill (Jacqueline, the "good" stepsister, was the other main character). Wow, disturbing horrifying movie, especially the end. I wish I never turned it on.

Group hopes to hit road with another reunited group following late-summer album's completion.

by Corey Moss, with reporting by Ryan J. Downey

The Backstreet Boys are in sync again.

"It's been like three years since we've all been in the studio together, so it's like the fire was rekindled," is how Nick Carter described the reunion during a recent break from recording. "We're in there experimenting and really cool stuff's coming out. It's not gonna be the same Backstreet. I mean, you're always gonna have Backstreet Boys, but the music's gonna change."

The group plans to update the teen-pop sound it mastered in the late '90s with a more mature approach to production and songwriting (see "Backstreet Boys Inspired By Oprah To Hit Studio Again").

"We're just not doing it like we did before, with the same sound we've always had," A.J. McLean said of the band's first LP since 2000's Black & Blue. "The vocals and harmonies are obviously gonna stay the same. That's us, we'll never change when it comes to that. But productionwise, we're definitely experimenting with different writers, different producers, and we're kinda going in there and just not limiting ourselves this time."

So far, the Boys have been recording with the Underdogs, a production team that's recently logged studio time with Ruben Studdard and Stacie Orrico. Other producers will follow.

"We've got a list of producers we're gonna work with," Howie Dorough said. "We're accepting new material, seeing what we gravitate to and going forward."

"We're writing, too," Carter added.

Their album is due in late summer, with the first single arriving a month or so earlier and a tour to follow.

The Backstreeters would like to hit the road with another reunited group.

"Are Destiny's Child doing another album?" asked Kevin Richardson.

"Yeah, somebody like that," Carter answered.

"Backstreet Boys, Boyz II Men and the Jackson 5 — that'd be a ticket," Richardson dreamed.

The as-yet-untitled new Backstreet Boys album marks both the group's reinvention and an important step for McLean.

"It's good to be doing my first record sober with the boys," he said. "That's a cool thing and I'm enjoying it. We're men now, you know? So life is good. I definitely appreciate all the support from our fans and can't wait to get back onstage and see all those smiling faces."

While the Backstreet Boys are recording, Carter will also be filming his first feature film, the horror movie "Brew."

"It's just some twisted stuff, the way I like horror movies," he explained, adding that no other actors have yet been cast. (AN: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Gee Nicky, dont'cha wonder WHY? AHAHAHAHA! No no, I'm good. Really. *wipes away tear*)

Carter's bandmates will also keep busy when not in the studio. Richardson, for one, will be promoting "Krumped," video director David LaChapelle's new documentary featuring music from Richardson's production company.

"It just got an honorable mention at Sundance," he said proudly. "It's about a dance movement in South Central L.A. It's a really interesting, beautiful story."

Dorough, meanwhile, has turned into quite the businessman.

"I bought five hotels already and a condo I'm very proud of," he said. "I'm workin' it like Donald Trump."

Life has not been quite so glamorous for new father Brian Littrell. "I'm still changin' diapers," he said. "It's all good."

Fist things first, Leno.

Summarized thoughts: I squeed like a ninny laughed so hard during this interview. Jay had his "Good dancer bad dancer" skit tonight (some of the people were hysterical) and when Elijah came out, not only did he dance all the way down the hall to the studio, but he did a special dance once on camera. It has been affectionately called, "Stripper Dance Elijah" and I expect the doll will be out by Mattel any day now. ;) So, 1. OMFGA I WANT TO DANCE WITH HIM SOME DAY. 2. I love how he made a special point of mentioning the overwhelming female fan-base. 70/30, whooo go us! Though he should know we're not here just for Viggo and Orli. Take me, for instance. I am definitely not here for Viggo and Orli. Aragorn and Legolas partially, yes. But my heart lies always with the hobbits. 3. I thought it was cute that some girl had deposited her phone number in the seat cushions and asked Jay to make sure Elijah got it. Unfortunately it is in the hands of some rather frightening stage hands at the moment, but Elijah was kind enough to make eyes at the girl and then make a last ditch special investigation of the seat cushions hoping to find said phone number. Apparently Dom isn't the only one who "enjoys the women." Speaking of Dom, 4. Dom is SO EVIL! I adore how he keeps telling the fans horrible stories about Elijah! Particularly because the fans automatically believe it all and Elijah just doesn't seem to care. Hahaha, he's so bad. Almost as bad as Viggo, whom I still call "The Devil." 5. LOTR fans are now called "Ringers"? I'm called a "Ringer?" I LIKE that. And heck NO Jay, we're NOTHING like Trekkies! *shifty eyes* *coughIwasinthemoreintensegroupcough* Point in case, I noticed during the interview that he had the remnants of a bad cough and has therefore been sick, and said out loud (to no one, mind you) "Aww poor baby's been sick!" Please don't slap me with a restraining order. I'm quite harmless, really. *shifty eyes* 6. When talking about the Oscars Lijah said, "My dates were the three hobbits... we went together." Okay, that wouldn't sound so bad had not Billy's gf been there. Hehe... sorry, bad thoughts. 7. Again we hear the "Porn and Chocolate" story. It must be a favorite. :P I like Jay's comment though: "You need to get out more." 8. His laugh when Jay questioned him on his apartment in NY. It's things like these that make me ADORE him so. Evil laugh. Oh, and KITTY HAIR! *ahem* Anyway, back to LA he goes. I was looking forward to stalking Elijah next trip to NY I made, too. Um, hmm, I didn't say that. But heee, how cute, he's moving back in with his mom. Loser. 9. I. SAW. THAT. APPEARANCE. ON. JAY. WHEN. HE. WAS. 11!!!! OMG, I KNEW THE FIRST ANSWER TO THAT QUIZ!!! And I ALMOST remembered the entire rest of that interview!!!!! God, Jay's talking about feeling old, now *I* feel old! Hahaha the silly string thing was great! The way he reacted when he was little and the way he reacted again this time: PRICELESS!!!!! But yeah, I totally remember watching that interview when I was little. Gosh I'm such an old fan. I miss weelijah, I grew up with that boy. Also, I love how Jay pointed out that he and Elijah are the same sizes now as they were then. HA!

That wraps up the highlights, though I adored his expressions during the second guest's interview. Shock. Horror. Embarrassment. Amusement. Groping nervously for his mug of water. Heee. "I can't believe I'm turning my back to Elijah wood!" "It's okay honey, this is your turn!" His expressions and nervous/embarrassed laughter are PRICELESS.

Pictures: The first picture here is seriously the best thing ever. I love those screen caps. More pictures here, here, and here. Ain't he cute?

Clips: Your one stop shop for all your Elikah lovin' needs. I loved this interview.

Now we have Conan. My favorite talk show host in the WORLD.

Summary: I thought it was interesting that the night before Conan had been talking about the new Elvish classes being held in London, to which he added: "Supposedly Elvish has no words for "Girl" "date" or "kiss"! Now the NERDS ARE ANGRY! *nerd voice* GRRRR! DARN YOU GANDALF!" LOL. But on to the actual interview, it was wonderful. I want Elijah's shoes. I ADORE those shoes! 1. Conan brought up the rumor about the four hobbits moving in together. The idea of the hobbit hole in NZ trips me out just a bit. Um, yeah. No. But I would SO DIG IT if they actually did a reality TV show. Here's the convo:

C: But it would make a cool reality show, and I'd be willing to produce it, if you and the other- (audience laughs) hear me out! If you and the other hobbits, in your hobbit gear, lived in a hobbit hole for, like, eight months, and we filmed it-
E: Just to see what happened-
C: See what happens! You guys have the big rubber feet strapped on, the whole thing.
E: So, as hobbits the whole time!
C: As hobbits, yes.
E: *nods* I'd do that.
C: Yeah.
E: Let's pitch it to the network! Come on!
C: This is the worst career move you've ever made... but thanks for going along with it!
E: *laughs*

2. Yeah, I so wish I had been at the TORn party. Those boys are so awesome for talking about their fans so nicely. And, heee, the whole Ringers as opposed to Trekkies thing was HYSTERICAL! Where Elijah was like, "Ringers are VERY good-looking," and Conan had to compare them to the Star Trek fare... Yeah. I love him. And Conan. And yes. 3. Elijah: "Listen to them screaming!" Conan: "This happens EVERY. TIME. you and I get together." HECK YEAH it does!!! WHOOOOT! *unashamedly a Conan/Lijah/all geeks basically fan* 4. Elijah doing a Clint Eastwood impression. EHEHEHE! I forgot what Elijah said, but something about killing the short freaks... it was so funny. He's so cute.

Pictures: The madness that is Elijah and Conan together 1 and 2. Even a cap of the SNL skit on PJ and Elijah! That was so funny. I'm determined that this picture MUST be iconized. Oh yes.

Clips: Follow the yellow brick road! Watch these. I mean it. And LOOK AT ELIJAH'S FACE DURING THE TOM JONES THING! HAHAHA!

---

Next we have Good Morning America. As I am a lazy wench, there will be no summary of this show as I did not see it. But lucky for you, you still get

Pictures and Clips. If you notice in the pictures section, he's wearing the SAME SHOES from Conan! And he was kind enough to hold them up so we could get a good look! I LOVE HIM SO! And I still want those shoes!

TRL. I found out about this halfway though the episode, so I only saw past song #6.

Summary: Elijah hosts. I love his weird taste in music and how all the fans want to be enthusiastic but deep down they have NO CLUE who he's talking about. Heh. Also, he said that Prince was one of the best concerts he went to (hmmm *ponders that*) and the fan that asked him that question said her favorite concert was POISON. AAAAH! BIG UPS TO THE 80'S GEEK! OH YEAH!!! Honestly honey, how Elijah didn't fall madly in love with you at those words alone, I don't know (obviously I need something to keep MY hopes alive, heh). And he's STILL wearing those shoes I love! Aside from that, my comments look mostly like this:

me: HE
me: HE
me: HE
me: HE
me: OMG
me: HQ(#%Y@#I@$%HN
me: HE'S HOSTING
me: He is so cute with his random music
me: OGDMFG HE LA
me: ETYUEr
me: THE LAUGH!

I didn't really think you wanted a whole review of just that. lol. SORRY! FANGIRL, HELLO? Oh, also I loved the whole "Clay-mation, Clay Akin" thing. CA-YOOT!

Pictures: Uno, and dos. Two of my favorites, there are TONS more up here. I love how unkempt he is. Enjoy the goodness of Ikle Elikah!

Clips: Ask and ye shall receive... He's obviously easily confused, as you can tell while he's doing the recap (aww). "This is confusing!" and "Thank you for watching TRL today, hope I didn't mess it up too much!" are what tipped me off. HEH.

And I'm SPENT. Holy COW. Ya'll better appreciate me for this!!! Who am I kidding, I post this stuff for mainly me anyways. :P Heh. Oh, but please obey the rules and RICK-CLICK-SAVE THE CLIPS, as bandwidth is very VERY precious! Thanks!

From [livejournal.com profile] andraste_oz's LJ:
So we got an email from Adele... Dom's pilot is now scheduled to start today (or tomorrow in the US) and run for two weeks in LA and then Honolulu.

Honestly people, any further news on this would be appreciated! But cool for Dom, Honolulu! I am jealous.

I read "Dom's pilot" as "damn pilot" and had to wonder what the hey you were talking about! I think Elijah-recaps and screencaps broke my brain. :)

[identity profile] lordoflorien.livejournal.com 2004-03-13 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh NO! I BROKE YOUR BRAIN AGAIN!

*runs to get superglue before "Amanda's Ghost" shows up to chew me out again*

Amanda's Ghost: *glomps Gabby and hides the super glue*

Amanda's Brain: Hey!

*blinks* I'm not sure how to react to that.

*GLOMPS Amanda's Ghost AND Amanda's Broken Brain*

Heee!

[identity profile] piratelooksat20.livejournal.com 2004-03-14 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
My brain wants to remain broken from the pretty. However, I need my brain. I think. Then again, I've survived 21+ years without one... ;)

Mmmm, Elijah.

[identity profile] lordoflorien.livejournal.com 2004-03-14 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I will serve you in any way I can?

Um, yeah. I think. Wait...

I think you've broken MY brain now. :P

[identity profile] piratelooksat20.livejournal.com 2004-03-14 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
