Today's Theme for the Day:
"Got Milk? If so, then you are a human and must be killed."--Tonight's episode of Futurama
Day before yesterday the other 4 CDs I ordered came in the mail. Madonna, the Ramones (SCORE ME WHOO!), Spider-Man soundtrack (because guess who did the original score. C'mon. Guess. =D), and Mr. Deeds soundtrack. I listened to the Mr. Deeds soundtrack for the first time today, and OH MY GIDDY AUNT, IT IS THE HAPPIEST MUSIC ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET!!! I LOVED it after the first couple songs (which reminded me of the Futurama line "World's greatest opera, only half over!"). I'm already positive it's going to be this summer's soundtrack. Last summer's soundtrack was a tough one to beat, but it's like ALL THE BEST SONGS EVER ON ONE CD!!!!!!! I'm stoked. I didn't even have to make a mix CD this time! HEEEE!
General recap of the past few days: You know my schedule saturday. Meeting, Work, watched a couple movies (which I'll review later), came home for JD & Sandy's "anniversary party." Sandy's brother Jimmy was here. He talks with a lisp. Somehow I don't remember this. Then again, the last time I saw him I was all of 7 years old, so you know. He sounds like Butthead. I know, sort of harsh to compare one's relative to a stunted cartoon character, but I swear. I couldn't hold in my laughter and several times Sandy looked at me like "WHAT?" and I had to think up good excuses. The man sounds like Butthead.
Sunday went shopping briefly, bought a dress at TJMaxx, rushed home and prepared for The Memorial. The talk was given by a brother from Bethel, and it was absolutely incredible. Afterward we went to the Carmelia's for snacks, and that was... fun. She has a pug. Named Scarlet Rose. ... Just be glad she didn't have the thing dressed. Cute dog, good food, bad back ache, good sleep.
Monday... sucked, so we'll skip Monday. Tuesday... marginally better. Slept in incredibly late. Mom on good behavior due to... well, Monday. Day one. Um... nothing else incredibly exciting to note. TV programs faboo as always. GAEL DIED! *SOB**SHUDDER**MOAN**WHIMPER* Not like we weren't expecting it, but STILL. DAMN DAMN DOUBLE DAMN. Poor Gael. Um... yeah, moving on.
Today: Day two. Again slept in incredibly late. Dr.'s appt at 3:30. SUBWAY SANDWICH FOR LUNCH, WHOOOO! Shopped in Home Despot and Market Basket. Bought Pepsi and S'mores candy bar, oooooh yeah. Btw, it so does not taste like a s'more. It tastes like... no. Ick. Not with the good. CHEMICALS ARE BAD, MMMKAY? (We bought more than that, but there's an inside joke there with the pepsi and candy that I... won't take the time to explain because I'll most likely be the only one amused. As always.) Rented "Cheaper By The Dozen" and watched. OMGA, review later, because YES. WITH THE YES. AND YES. Watched Futurama. Started journal post. Ta-daaaa.
So Saturday I watched Secondhand Lions, the first half of Punch Drunk Love, and Hardball for the first time. Also The Long and Short of it! HEEE! Sunday saw The Winning Season. Monday watched Saving Silverman. Tuesday nothing, today Cheaper by the Dozen.
Secondhand Lions: AWESOME movie. I love love LOVED it! Wow, it was a great film, really it was. AND! FUNNY THING! You know who was in it as the traveling salesman that finally sold something to the two uncles? DAVID MCLAREN! (Think Amy's boyfriend on Judging Amy) HEEEE! This amused and thrilled me beyond recall. But even aside from that, the movie was so cute and HYSTERICAL. I loved the uncles. I love the fairy tale aspect and how just because something isn't true doesn't mean you can't believe in it anyway. And the ending... brilliant. I thought it was great, you all should see it ASAP! Also take a moment to watch the deleted scenes (some are rather lengthy, fyi), some of them were really funny. But I like the original ending better than the one they deleted. Good movie, 5 stars.
I can't really review Punch Drunk Love, as I didn't see the whole thing (Mandy showed up so I was free to go home and mom has requested I do so asap), but what I did see was great. It seems to be one of those movies people either love and think is bloody brilliant, or hate and think is incredibly stupid. It's obvious Adam Sandler didn't write this one (HEH), as the script thus far IMHO is witty and artistic and well thought out. I've been dying to see the end of it since Saturday, so I hope I get called in to work again soon, heh. Once I see the whole thing I'll give a proper review, but so far I think I'm going to like it a lot.
Hardball: VERY cute movie. This was recommended to me YEARS ago and I never got around to it, but it was funny and cute and the perfect role for Ted. I MEAN, Keanu. HEEEH. Although, SAD ENDING! WITH G! AND! *wail* But I wont spoil it. It was cute and I liked the pitcher who couldn't pitch without his walkman (Biggy biggy biggy, cant you see?) and... well, see the movie. It was cute.
The Winning Season: It was a made-for-TV-movie I saw on TNT or USA or FX or something the other day starring Matthew Modine. Who, though older, still looks exactly the same. I wonder why he isn't in more movies... anyway, it was cute. Sort of a kids movie, but I prefer those to most of the crap on TV nowadays. Plus, it was about baseball in the 1900's, so you can't lose. ;)
Saving Silverman: I thought I'd never seen this movie before, but it turns out I have. Now I remember why I didn't commit it to memory. Um, yeah. Right. That's all. Though, JACK BLACK! "Dude, if all the nachos are all stuck together, it still counts as one nacho!" HEEEEEE LOVE HIM! I kept saying that today and when I walked into the video store I looked up to the TV monitor and School of Rock was playing. I was like, "*POINTS* DUDE, IF ALL THE NACHOS ARE STUCK TOGETHER IT'S STILL ONE NACHO!!!" And then he was on E! later and I did it again. JACK!
Cheaper By The Dozen: SO. FRIGGIN. CUTE. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET, SEE IT NOW!!! It was so good. I LOVED it. I cracked up so many times, but the BEST PART was in the beginning when Steve Martin was hunting the Frog. HAHAHA, THE FACE! Also, I love the fact that the frogs were named "Pork" and "Beans." Heh. Hysterical, I busted up several times, Steve Martin is da man, and I love Bonnie Hunt. It was so cute, you must see it. 4 stars. Also, DAX SHEPARD WAS IN IT! Aww, Ashton Kutcher looking out for his boy! LOL. Although one thing did bug me, that when the kids are holding up the signs that spell "We love the coach" the "we" kept changing from being on two different boards to the same board. Merr. Aside from that, MARK IS THE CUTEST KID IN THE WORLD WITH THAT RED HAIR AND THE GLASSES AND EEEEEE, and, um, right. Good movie. Funny. Watch it.
Also, the Bishops happen to own the theatrical version of TTT. So you can imagine what the very first thing I did Saturday was. Heee, yup. Popped in the Special Features disk, scrolled down, and clicked on "The Long and Short of it." SOOOO CUTE! Oh, my love for Sean Astin grows every day. I thought it was adorable. And I loved the credits! "Special Thanks to BILLY BOYD for his musical inspiration." HEEEE!!! And when I saw the name "Elijah Wood" fly by as 1st Assistant Director, I said Oh lord, I have to watch the Making Of now. Not like I wasn't going to in the first place, but you know. ;) ANDY SERKIS IS SO MY BOYFRIEND! He was hysterical! And I love how picky PJ was. "*whispers incredulously* Peter Jackson has just requested another take!!!!" AHAHA! It was the cutest short film ever, and I continue to love my boys. Glad I finally got the chance to see it. *huggles Sean*
And that's about all folks. Have I mentioned how great it is to have warm weather? Because today, me in short sleeves and capris in 50 degree weather? Bomb diggety.
NOTE TO SELF! Remember to supply for Bria: Detailed pics of Gimli's helm, the Rohan crown (variety, specifically like Eomer's/Theoden's funeral crown), the Gondorian helm (Tower Guard or Soldier, preferably Faramir's), and Aragorn's crown. Don't forget, wench.
NOTE TO SELF AGAIN: READ HER JOURNAL, DAMN IT. FORGET AGAIN AND DIE, EVIL SCUM! (Note the strong feelings of self-worth and admiration I hold for myself; it's so apparent).
YET ANOTHER NOTE, DAMN IT BRIA: Don't forget to devise a plot for "The Prince, the Pirate, and the Blacksmith." ... For those of you just tuning in, don't ask.

Very. :) I had seen it in the theater and just rented it last weekend and got my mom to watch it. She hadn't really been interested, but was surprised at how much she did like it. I love it.
Do you have a CD burner? I'd love that "Let My Love Open the Door" song (from the Mr. Deeds soundtrack), and I can even mail you a blank minidisk. Somehow..without it warping. Hmm.
