Weekend update.

Weird Al's parents found dead. Oh wow, that's awful. Has anybody else heard about this? Poor guy.

So, guess what I went to see Sunday afternoon? :P

Good things about Ella Enchanted:
-The town Ella was from was called "Frell"!!!! HA!! FRELL!! HAHAHAHAHA!! Within the first 3 minutes of the film you see this huge sign that says "Welcome to FRELL" and I swear Emily and I were like, "*gasp* *both shouting in theater* FRELL!! *lean forward in chair* *stare at each other* HAAHAA! *high five* EEEE!" *giggles* Every. single. time. I saw or heard Frell I laughed. Every time. It never got old.
-Carey Elwes. *squeezes him*
-Carey Elwes saying Frell. When two fandoms collide. *dies happy*
-The prince's horse. OHMYLORDSQUEEEWITHTHEPRETTYAPOLOSAOMGEEEE!
-Mini Driver and Ann Hathaway are so incredibly adorable.
-THE CHICK FROM BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM AND ER WAS ELLA'S BEST FRIEND!!! I ADORE HER!!! SHE'S SO CUTE!!! Yea!
-Did I mention CAREY ELWES???

Bad things about Ella Enchanted:
-Everything else.

Okay, now that I've satisfied my odd desire to see this movie, I now know why it was just that odd and unjustified. Terrible movie. Teeny-bopper chick-flick gag-reflex-inducing sugar-coated bubble-gum drabble. It had great potential, don't get me wrong. It could have been an absolutely adorable movie, but they played up the teen romance too much. The fantasy aspects were well done in that Shrek-meets-The Never-Ending Story way, I enjoyed the Ogres and Elves and OMG, THAT GAY ELF THAT TRAVELED WITH ELLA WAS THE BEST THING EVER! HE WAS SO CUTE! AND HE GOT BUSY WITH A GIANT! AAAHAHAHAAH! Okay I'm sorry, but that's FUNNAY. Anyway, if it had been more fantasy and less teen cheesy crap I might have felt differently. If I hadn't been sitting next to two girls who, throughout the whole movie, were like, "Omg, the prince is sooooo hot... who is he? we have to watch the credits to find out, cause he's sooooo dreamy... omg, he's just so SEXY!" I might have felt differently. But the case of the matter is through the whole movie I was grabbing at my throat and making gagging noises. Although I thought the prince's leather pants were a nice touch... hahahah, now THAT'S comedy. But yeah. And the character development? TERRIBLE. Yeah, so Ella has a best friend and we're supposed to feel a great draw to their relationship, but she has all of 4 scenes in the whole movie. Mini Driver is a Fairy that just sort of lives with Ella's family, but we don't really know why until about halfway through the movie she calls herself a "house fairy," which just sort of lets one make their own conclusions. And the snake, wtf was up with the snake? Why was he like the Kingdom's mascot? I don't know, the character development was just so poorly done.

So all in all? 2 out of 5 stars. I'll pray I never have to watch it again, though I'm glad I saw it for the reasons stated on the "good" list.

So, Friday was fun. As I said in my last post, Lexi invited me over to her house so I went and hung out with the Adels, Muse's, Stockwells, and Archibalds. Chris, Dan, Matt, and Connor (hee) performed for us. Oh yeah, Lexi played a bit on the guitar too. It was cool listening to them play together. I left at about 11:30 or so and went straight to bed.

Slept in Saturday, which wasn't so much with the good. Oops. Showered and started cleaning my room so when Em got here it wouldn't be so nasty with kitty hair and whatnot. Em arrived a tad early so I only got about halfway finished. We went to the Tilt'n Diner for a bite of lunch, which was yummy (mmm, hamburger... :P), then came home and chatted for a while. Leslie and Ally Skibicki stopped in unexpectedly. Um, yeah. Em and I had... er... fun, with Ally. *snort* Though, the kid did give us candy. Of course it did make us a little sugar-high (read: everything we said was feckin' hysterical)... so I'm still not clear on whether or not that's a good or bad thing. A little while after the Ski's left, Lexi showed up. So the three of us sat around laughing and talking for a bit, then we went downstairs and ...did more of the same. Heh. I found out that not only does Em like Elijah Wood, but she's OBSESSED WITH FARSCAPE! WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!! SHE'S LIKE THE ONLY PERSON I KNOW IN NH THAT IS CRAZY ABOUT FARSCAPE LIKE ME!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!! So we goofed off looking at all my Elijah pictures (oh yeah, I also showed Em the Orlando paper dolls thing, which was also DEAD FUNNY), made homemade pizza, and watched a little Farscape (read: we were up till 2:30 in the morning watching Farscape. Yeah. On a meeting night. We be smart, yup). We debated on seeing Ella Enchanted at 9:30, but Lexi had to be home by 10 so it was either just Em and I go, or go see a matinee on Sunday. So we decided on the latter because we could see it in the good theater in Concord and then just zip over to Allia's house and make her welcome home goodies. So Lexi left at 9:30 after watching "Premier" with Em and I, and then Em and I proceeded to watch at least 3 more episodes, as well as the Farscape Primer Ben and Claudia recorded after season 2, and the Princess Bride Play I'd been in for East Concord's 3rd annual talent show/family night. Good times, yeah.

Sunday we almost didn't get up in time for meeting because of not getting any sleep, but we did. Mom and Dad left before Em and I, so we took Em's car to the hall. On our way there on Twin Bridge road, just before we hit 140, we saw this little black rodent thing start scurrying across the opposite side of the road, before suddenly this hawk SWOOPED DOWN from our side, GRABBED the little sucker in its talons, and FLEW OFF WITH IT. Em and I were like, "DUDE, OMG, THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER! DID YOU SEE THAT? WHOA! THAT WAS LIKE, THE COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN!!" Heh, oh yeah. We also got stuck behind this car that did 10 under the speed limit the WHOLE WAY down 106, which was both annoying because it made us really late, and amusing because Em has road rage. Bwahaha. But we finally made it to the hall, sat in the backroom, and somehow managed to stay awake for the whole meeting, aside from about 10 minutes toward the end when Em finally succumbed and closed her eyes. After the meeting was fun, I'll give some of the quotes later, because Em, Lexi, Hannah, Shakita and I stood around talking about weird funny things, and then later reenacted the hawk swooping and catching the rodent thing for the group. MWAHAHAHA. Good times. Then Lexi, Em and I ate lunch at Wendy's, came back to my place, got changed and grabbed sign making supplies, and left for Concord. We took separate cars so Em wouldn't have to drive all the way back to Laconia to drop me and Lexi off, so I took the shortcut to Concord while Lexi and Em took the long way. They ended up right behind me as I turned off 106. Don't ask me how, but I wouldn't be surprised if a few laws were broken on their part. lol. We were debating on whether or not we should see Ella Enchanted at 2:10 or Eternal Sunshine at 2:45. We went to see Ella. Damn it. So close, and yet so far... It was okay though, because Em, Lexi and I had fun laughing every time anyone said "Frell," and OH, ahahaha, whenever Em found something extraordinarily amusing she would laugh loud enough for the whole theater to hear and kick her legs in the air. AHAHAHA, IT WAS SO FUNNY! LEXI WAS SO EMBARRASSED, but not REALLY, just a bit flabbergasted. Aaah, I love it. She's such a cool kid. They both are.

Theeeen after the movie we headed to Epsom and hung out in Allia's room. She was supposed to get home Monday, so we decided to make her presents. We all chipped in on a huge "WE WUV U AWWIA!" banner (made with 4 pieces of standard paper taped together, crayons and a few markers. 'Cause we are like, 12 CUMULATIVELY), then each made our own separate welcome home banner/notes, and Lexi made a small Welcome Home banner that we taped on her door. Twas fun. We hung the big banner from her ceiling fan, and then hung the other 3 notes/banners from her ceiling. They were awesome and funny and cool and we're all very proud of our wit. I confessed to stealing a bunch of Allia's chocolate kisses, and then taped the empty wrappers to the note as evidence. AHAHA. We put all kinds of messages about our love for her on the front of the big banner, and then fortunes and advice on the back. Heeee, we're like the best friends EVER! So after we were done Lexi and I drove back home while Em drove back to Dover. I dropped Lexi off at her place and hung out with her for a bit to chat. Connor was being especially adorable, and Beast, her giant orange tabby, was SO LOVEY. He was cute. I also got to drive with Lexi for the first time because Terry wanted her to return some videos to the video store. Not bad for a teen, though she purposely did things she knew would make me uncomfortable. Darn teens these days! ;P I got home at about 8pm and crashed on the couch for a while. Watched some TV with mom, but I've already forgotten what.

I've seen SO MANY Bruce Willis movies on TV this weekend. Seriously. First was Armageddon, then the Whole Nine Yards, then The Fifth Element, OH, and he was on Letterman or Leno last week too! That was SO FUNNY! He came out wearing a Donald Trump wig. AHAHAHAHA. He's so cute, I love him.

Then yesterday was pretty tame. Homework, finished cleaning, shower, TV, yadda yadda. We watched Corinna Corinna with Whoopi Goldburg. I love that movie. The Sandlot was also on. Heeee, awww. Meeemorrieeees! I also got some IMs from Allia... who is now home... she got our signs and LOVED them. She was very excited. =D So that's about it.

Oh, and all this week on Knock First they're redoing celebrity's rooms! Yesterday was the first half of one of the member's of Aerosmith's kid's room. ...Awkward sentence. Anyway, it's pretty cool to watch. And yes, I am now convinced that the carpenter, Andy Hampton, is the cutest man alive. He's like Ben Affleck, except 5 times cuter. /fangirl moment.

How about some quotes now? All right!

(Friday's)
Mom: Nadi (my cat) was beating up on Teddy (other cat) this morning!
Dad: *mumbling from within their bedroom*
Mom: Dad says 'Don't give chocolate to Nadi before bedtime anymore'! 'It makes her too hyper!' You hear that Nadi? Dad's putting down the smack!
Me: ... Um, mom, it's 'Dad's putting the smack down on you.'
Mom: Oh.
Me: Not, 'putting down the smack!'
(this led into jokes about narcotics and the whole "Um, mom, you might want to say a 'Cola Beverage'" joke)

Mom (to service group): My mother was 6 months when we moved out of Texas.
Dad: YOU were 6 months dear, your mother was a little bit older than that.

Lexi: Everyone wants you to come over, Gabby! Can't you hear it?
Terry (in background): Yay.

Connor Adel: You're peeling that orange really fast!
Me: That's right, that's because I have super spidey powers! I can peel an orange just like a spider can! I bet you didn't know spiders could peel oranges, did you?
Connor: No! Spiders peel oranges?!

(Saturday's)
WARNING: Most of these are from the sugar-rush of DOOM!

Emily (while playing with Orlando Bloom paper dolls): Ooooh.. let's.. with the... OH WAIT... Ooh yeah... EHEHEHOHOHOHMUAHAHAH... HEEEEE... OH. WAIT. YES. HECK YES. Here, we'll just put these roses in your teeth... Would I care to tango? Why yes, I would! OH, MUAHAHEHEHEHHOHOHOHEEHEHEHEEEE!!!
Me: *busting up laughing watching her*

Emily: I have a thriving imagination life.
Me: (laughing) My social life may suck...
both: ...but my imagination life is AWESOME!!

Emily: ...She's literally the blondest person I've ever met.
Me: Oh, well you obviously haven't gotten to know Lexi very well then.

Emily: I call it my Shakespeare bible because it has gold edges and it's (gestures WILDLY) YEA HUGE!!!

Emily's version of Hamlet:
"And then Ophelia's dad is like 'You're a loser and Hamlet doesn't really love you'..."

Lexi: I have like, 6 different journals.
Me: Yeah, one she keeps locked up, one she doesn't care if her mother sees, one for... ...And she has her CALENDERS, too! *wink*
Lexi: *glares at me*
Em: Calenders? *questioning look*
Me: Yeah, Lexi likes those Chip & Dale's calenders...
Em: I LOVE CHIP & DALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: .... um, not THAT Chip and Dale!
Em: Oh. ... OH! *starts busting up* I THOUGHT YOU MEANT CHIP & DALE'S RESCUE RANGERS!
(Em and I bust up laughing while Lexi sits quiet. When we finally catch our breath, we look over at Lexi)
Lexi: (realization strikes) OH! AHAHAHAHA!

(Em and I quoting Shakespeare together)
(Lexi looking lost)

(Em and I quoting Monty Python together)
(Lexi looking lost)

(Em and I quoting Princess Bride together)
(Lexi attempting to keep up with sugar rush of doom, but still looking lost)

Em: Have you ever read any Shakespeare?
Lexi: Yeah, Romeo and Juliet. And... oh, I don't know if it was Shakespeare or not. Oh, that one *points to title*
Em: Macbeth?
Lexi: Yeah, that one.
Me: *smacks forehead*

John (Farscape): It kinda looks like Louisiana. Or Degobah.
Aeryn: *questioning look*
John: Degobah. Where Yoda lives.
Aeryn: Who's Yoda?
John: Oh, just a little green guy. Trains warriors.
Aeryn: *unfazed* Oh.

Aeryn: Great, so I get to stay here with the blooming blue bush while you get to go play with your favorite little Trelk!

Em: Dude, we are SO the same person!
Me: I KNOW! We're twins, except not! I'm the evil half and you're the angelic half!
Em: *a 'what have you been smoking' look* Oookay...
Me: I HAVE TO SHOW YOU THAT PICTURE! (There's a picture from Sarah's party in which I look like a demon and Em looks like an angel of light. It's funny)

(Sunday's)
Speaker: Let's see what the scriptures have to say about road rage... *reads in Timothy about being peaceable with all men*
Em: Dude, that so doesn't apply to people who drive under the speed limit!

"We are intrigued!"--Watchtower

Me (describing the hawk catching the rodent at meeting): It was like National Geographic's Animal Kingdom or something!
Em: *chuckling* Seriously, I'm gonna have to tell my dad about it. He loves stuff like that.
Me: Yes, but when you do, make sure you say it with an Australian accent.
Em: (with accent) Crikey, the rat was like THIS big!
Me: (with accent) Now let's watch as the majestic hawk comes swooping down upon it's prey... this rodent, it's about a meter long, a very cantankerous animal, and watch as the hawk extends it's talons and comes down upon the animal, grabbing it and swooping off with it's quarry! ...Let's see that again in slow motion!!!
Me: *slowly reenacts Hawk, flapping it's wings, and coming down on rodent*
Em: *slowly reenacts rodent, squealing in shock*

mother in Ella Enchanted: "You must never tell anyone about your very special gift..."
Me: Dude, like no one would notice?
Lexi: I KNOW!!

Carey Elwes in Ella Enchanted: *laughs evilly while tapping fingertips together*
Both Em and I: *lean in toward Lexi* MuuuaahahahahahaHAHAHAAHAHA! *taps fingers*
Lexi: *alarmed and breathing heavily*

Zack: hey
Me: hey, how was the trip?
Zack: how come you didnt leave notes in my room
Zack: ?????
Zack: well ?
Me: dude, honestly.. would you have wanted ME back in your room again?
Zack: ummm .................NO
Me: Well then there you have it
Zack: my trip was good
Me: you should be happy I respected your wishes! :-P

Em: Goooood, timmmes.

There was probably a great deal more... but you know how it is when you don't write things down right away. Basically though, I wish I had made a phone post Saturday afternoon. Sugar-high hysteria! It was so funny. But most of it was sound effects and gestures and whatnot, so it wouldn't play well on paper---er---in type. So funny though. Emily cracks me up.

Now, I'm making bread sticks! I'm trying to copy Olive Garden's, so we'll see how they turn out. And Knock First is on, so I'm gonna blow this popsicle stand! See ya!
