movie trailer from beyond...

Oh dear lord. The new "King Arthur" movie is going to suck royally. AUGH. I hate it when people massacre my favorite myths.

Well, first you have to understand that Arthurian legend is my favorite myth, and I've read everything there is to read on the subject, including fiction and speculation on historical evidences. So just by watching the trailer I can pick up on several grievances to the trueness of the story. But on top of that the casting is all wrong, and Gwenhwyfar, whom I loathe, is... well, SheRa.

For fanatic nuts like me, it's going to be bloody awful.

I'm a huge fan of the myth myself, so I hear you about the inconsistancies. I guess these filmmakers care less about "truth" (if any truth can be proven about the Arthur myth) than about selling their movie. At least the characters seem to exist in "gritty" times (as opposed to a lot of other movies that seem to imply that modern bathing existed back then!)

And the "SheRa" comment made me laugh... turning her into SheRa/Xena is definately NOT in the legend. I think I did read speculation somewhere that Guinevere was a warrior-queen, but most everyone else seems to say no.

I just finished a wonderful fictional book called "Queen of Camelot" by Nancy McKenzie. Have you read it?
