*awed*

Oh man.

OH MAN.

I just got back from seeing Phantom of the Opera the broadway musical for the first time.

...

Wow.

W-O-W.

wow.

There's just no other words.

The movie = BRILLIANT.

But there's just no comparison. No comparison at all.

I CRIED during Music of the Night. IT'S NOT EVEN A SAD SCENE. It was just how... powerful the lead's voice was. I mean, it was heart-wrenching. Wow. I just. Can't form words right now.

...

Yeah, definitely can't form the words. I'll be back after I've had a moment to breathe.

Isn't it just the most fantastic show? It's been ten years since I saw it on Broadway and I still quibble. There's nothing quite like seeing a live show.

YES! I mean, my mother saw it about 12 years ago on broadway, so I grew up with the original cast recording soundtrack; it's easy to recognize how fantastic Michael Crawford's voice is. But actually seeing it was stunning. The actor we had was definitely not up to par with Michael, but his voice was incredible nonetheless, and the way it reverberated off the walls and shuddered deep in your chest cavity was... ack. Touching.

Which cast did you get to see?

It wasn't the original cast. Our Phantom was incredible, though. You could almost hear him in the balcony WITHOUT a mic, that's how powerful his voice was.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show, hon. :)
