Just a brief update.
The hell? What do you MEAN I can't add any more movies to my Netflix queue until I delete some?! I have a 500 movie limit?! THAT'S LAME!! *sigh*
So I decided to take a break from working on designing a website for Allia (a paying customer!) to update, since it's been a while. And speaking of websites... I've officially finished restoring all the data I had backed up from the big computer crash of 2006. The final damage assessment report is:
Damage Assessment:
Current used HD space: 141 GB
Current free HD space: 87.1 GB
Amount of Files still lost: About 150 GB
Amount of Files recovered/reinstalled: About 10 GB
Current system files: All basic windows programs + supplemental programs neg. Stepmania
Amount of supplementary programs recovered/reinstalled: 14
Estimated loss of information: I'd say about 70%
Current project tackled: Went through every. single. CD, zip, and floppy I had in an effort to restore lost data.
Current level of optimism: Crushed.
I was able to restore about half the pictures from last year that I had lost, however a good portion are still gone forever. Also, save for the 100 icons I had uploaded at the time I lost every. single. icon. I had ever made/saved. That probably numbered around 600 icons. Also I lost all photos that I kept for website/icon use including all my LOTR+cast pictures, BSB photos (as well as other media), photoshops I'd made for website use, and so on. I also lost all the pictures Em sent me from the Star Wars III premier and all pictures I had of MutaLovers/on-line pals. Basically I lost a freakin' boat load of pictures.
There's a lot of music and sound media that I know I'll never be able to restore. I had some pretty rare unreleased tracks + live tracks from several artists, as well as unreleased collaborations. There was also a lot of comedy and spoof material. PLUS I had a huge folder full of sound clips from tons of various media sources which included amusing clips from Monty Python, Princess Bride, Pinky & the Brain, Animaniacs, Stargate SG-1, BSB, et al. Other lost media includes video clips, including fanvids I had made and (*SOBS*) interviews and clips from LOTR cast members. Damn funny stuff, too. Elijah's stripper dance... bendy!lijah... fake german reporter Dom... "just like dom and I are TOGETHER... but not like that!" Billy... et al. DAMN IT!
But the last and most upsetting loss... probably the most tragic thing I could ever relate... the loss of numerous works of fiction. *shudders briefly* I've lost a third of "Coma," and a ton of recent updates to several other works. However I've lost in their ENTIRETY "The Scream," "The Dark Prince," "Higher," "I'll Never Break Your Heart," "If Only...," a SG-1 fic, "Minuet in B," "PotC: Return of the Damned," and... my Dom fic. I would have lost "The Tree Whisperer" and "Ice in January" too if I hadn't uploaded those to my new website before the crash. And dammit I was right in the middle of adding "The Scream" to my website when it happened, too! At least 9 pieces of fiction lost completely... completely! I feel like death.
And the great thing about my luck? I'm the type of person who backs things up to disk only to have those disks end up getting CORRUPTED. I DON'T KNOW HOW. I swear to god someone out there is working against me. Because at least three CDs and 2 zip disks were corrupted to all hell when I tried to retrieve the information from them. That's what accounts for the majority of my fiction and pictures that ended up getting lost. Because I had them backed up, but the world hates my soul.
So there you have it. The final damage assessment. Everything else is pretty much moot at this point. So I feel I have to BEG YOU ALL, if you have any of my fiction saved--ANYTHING AT ALL I'VE WRITTEN--please send it to me at b_millennium@hotmail.com! Please please please! Check your HD for anything I might have written... I say this with
bstem03,
dramabsb, and
myhero particularly in mind. *sigh* Thanks.
Well, with that depressing news out of the way, how about a semi-depressing survey I took? Taken at keirsey.com under the Keirsey Temperament Sorter section.

Your Temperament is Idealist
Idealists, as a temperament, are passionately concerned with personal growth and development. Idealists strive to discover who they are and how they can become their best possible self -- always this quest for self-knowledge and self-improvement drives their imagination. And they want to help others make the journey. Idealists are naturally drawn to working with people, and whether in education or counseling, in social services or personnel work, in journalism or the ministry, they are gifted at helping others find their way in life, often inspiring them to grow as individuals and to fulfill their potentials.
Idealists are sure that friendly cooperation is the best way for people to achieve their goals. Conflict and confrontation upset them because they seem to put up angry barriers between people. Idealists dream of creating harmonious, even caring personal relations, and they have a unique talent for helping people get along with each other and work together for the good of all. Such interpersonal harmony might be a romantic ideal, but then Idealists are incurable romantics who prefer to focus on what might be, rather than what is. The real, practical world is only a starting place for Idealists; they believe that life is filled with possibilities waiting to be realized, rich with meanings calling out to be understood. This idea of a mystical or spiritual dimension to life, the "not visible" or the "not yet" that can only be known through intuition or by a leap of faith, is far more important to Idealists than the world of material things.
Highly ethical in their actions, Idealists hold themselves to a strict standard of personal integrity. They must be true to themselves and to others, and they can be quite hard on themselves when they are dishonest, or when they are false or insincere. More often, however, Idealists are the very soul of kindness. Particularly in their personal relationships, Idealists are without question filled with love and good will. They believe in giving of themselves to help others; they cherish a few warm, sensitive friendships; they strive for a special rapport with their children; and in marriage they wish to find a "soulmate," someone with whom they can bond emotionally and spiritually, sharing their deepest feelings and their complex inner worlds.
Idealists are rare, making up between 20 and 25 percent of the population. But their ability to inspire people with their enthusiasm and their idealism has given them influence far beyond their numbers.
The Four types of Idealists are:
Healers (INFP) | Counselors (INFJ) | Champions (ENFP) | Teachers (ENFJ)
Maybe one of these days Em will FINALLY crack out that "Please Understand Me" book and I'll be able to figure out which of the above four I am. I WANT TO KNOW!!!!!

I am SO VERY SORRY I didn't reply to you sooner! I was away on vacation and I only just got back home a few days ago! However, I am so very excited to hear from you! Yes, it would be WONDERFUL if you could send me those chapters! Every little bit counts! :)
I am so very appreciative that you took the time to respond to my petition, and again I'm sorry I wasn't available to respond to you sooner! Thank you so very much! Send whatever you have of Coma to my e-mail address: b_millennium@hotmail.com
If there's anything I can do for you in return, just name it! I know I haven't updated in forever, or written much of anything, and my hard drive crashing hasn't helped out much, but I am trying to get back in the habit of updating regularly and writing more often, so if there's anything you want just let me know and I'll do my best to provide! I really truly appreciate this so much! :)
Well I look forward to hearing from you, and thank you again for your help. :)
