I received this card in the mail today. This past year has given me incredible perspective, which is something I feel I've been lacking in my life. I rejoice in my friends, grateful for every day I have their strength, hope, happiness, and vitality. And occasionally I am reminded, they rejoice in me, too.

Perspective is such a hard thing. Hard to acquire, hard to see that we have it once we do. It's amazing that you've been through what you've been through, and you're already able to look at everything this way. It takes some people decades to realize that they've gained perspective.

And I rejoice in you lots. ♥ I can't tell you how many times you've saved my mood, just by being you.

Perspective is one of those elusive beasts that are hard to hunt, because they change shape with each passing mood. To just be okay with things -- not always easy -- usually comes too late. But I'd rather spend my time grateful for the beauty than sad for the things I cannot change. And you, my dear, are such a beautiful soul.

Clearly, there needs to be more funtimes. XD
